I just caught Les Choristes. It's an extremely beautiful show! A perfect example of a beautiful redemptive tale. It manages to bridge the chasm between boy-hood and aging with the aid of music, the binding element that connects the supervisor with his charges.
French just makes the music sound so much better! They sound so much more ethereal and other-worldly and this allows the music to rise above their grungy, grimy and prison-like existence. Imagine if the songs were sung in Hokkien (Chinese dialect)!
